The Leifur Eiríksson Foundation, governed by a board of trustees appointed by the Central Bank of Iceland, the Icelandic Government, and the University of Virginia, was founded to fund scholarly exchanges between Iceland and the United States.
The mission of the Foundation is exclusively for charitable, literary, educational, and scientific purposes and for providing recognition and financial assistance to further scholarly study and research.
The benefactors will be scholars from the United States and the Republic of Iceland.
